Ba-dum ching!

If Colby had his way, the house would be decorated all year long for Halloween. Halloween Christmas tree, Halloween Easter bunny, Halloween fireworks, you name it. I, however, am not a fan of scary year-round, so we compromised – two months of Halloween, two months of Christmas, and eight months of Martha Stewart-unapproved decor.

After months of fighting it, I was dragged kicking and screaming into the world of t-shirt patch shorts, sock lamps and duct tape lamp shades*. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Pinterest has captured me.

*I love how the description says, “Duct gets weird when warm so this may not be the best idea. Also duct tape can melt and/or be flammable.”

No, I’m not making paint out of baking soda, or drinking a bunch of wine so I can make cork paintings. Not yet, at least. Instead, I browse mostly for room decor ideas and funny quotes. But, since Halloween is fast approaching, I turned to Evil-Pinterest for DIY craft ideas.

Imagine my surprise when I actually found something cool – a DIY Halloween road sign marker. It was more than a bit tedious, especially cutting the stencils, but I’m quite happy with the results.

We went from this…
